Show BOXERS ARE PRIMED FOR TONIGHT'S MILL Barrieau Meets Irish in Headliner; Battle Royal to Wind Up Show. Kid Irish, looel welterweight phenom, and Frank Barrieau, welter champion of Canada, are primed for the six-round fuss tonight at the Grand theater, which will be the headliner of Hardy Downing's Manhattan Man-hattan club Christmas card. Much interest inter-est is being taken in this battle, which should be one of the classiest of the season. sea-son. Both are terrific fighters with good records. Barrieau has defeated several well-known well-known men and is accredited one of the best rough and ready millers in t he ring today. He has done his best work iir the ten-round game and will lie able to go six tilts at a fast pace. His wallop has stopped most of his opponents in the first few rounds of his fights. Irish, while he has not the record that Barrieau has, is a keen battler with a hard punch and much skill. He is well known in local circles, having put on some of the best fights Salt Iake has seen. He is in the pink of condition and wilt no doubt give the Canadian a rough evening. The other six-gong fuss will be a rough and tumble battle between Bob Moore, a local favorite, and Swede Johnson, a lough boy who has been doing some good milling here this season. This should be a rougher rough-er bout than the headliner and one of the kind the Manhattan clubbers enjoy. Moore has been putting his opponents away with regularity lately and has improved im-proved wonderfully with his punches and ability to put them over. He is a rugged athlete, who loves to step into the thick of the fray and mix tilings. Johnson is one of the toughest boys he has yet met and one who likewise loves to toss caution to the wind and mix things. Kid Davis, well known here for several years as a clever boxer, will make his season's sea-son's debut tonight against Joe Manes, a clever boy from the coast. Davis has never ;et ben defeated for his featherweight feather-weight crown, earned here some time ago, and will defend ft against all comers. He is a clever and tough battler who has been raised in the short-round game. Manes came here last winter for several fights and proved his class then. He is a .favorite in the four-round shows of the! Pacific coast and a good match for Davis, i i Kid Dutch and Battling Olson will throw ! haymakers at each other. These two ; bruisers are rough and tumble mixers. ! who have been popular with local fans all I winter. Neither one has been decisively defeated yet and both are rapidly coming . to the front. An interesting battle is promised prom-ised when the two tangle. Frenchy Boyd, the Charlie Chaplin of the local fight game, will try conclusions with Jack Brunsell, a hard hitting customer custom-er from the coast. Boyd has been putting in some hard training licks the last week preparing for this affair and expects to get away with a speedy victory. The windup wilt be a battle royal which a quintette of colored boxers promise to render extremely exciting.
