Show WILDCAT SCHEMES FOUGHT IN IDAHO POCATEIXO, Dec. 24. The Idaho Mining Min-ing association, through Secretary Rave-nal Rave-nal Macbeth, lias announced that it will do all In Its power to assist the federal government in the prosecution of Frank A. Palmer, who Is reported as having been arrested in the east in connection with an alleged Idaho mining swindle. . Palmer posed as the treasurer of the Golden Star Mining company and was trading the company's stock on the Boston Bos-ton curb. He had succeeded in advancing the price from 20 cents to 30 cents per share when he was arrested on the charge of using the mails to defraud. Investigation by Secretary Macbeth discloses dis-closes the fact that no such company as the Golden Star has ever Hied articles of incorporation in this state. The owners of a claim of that name gave an option on their property, but had nothing noth-ing to do with any misrepresentations in regard to the sale of stock. Idaho has a blue sky law which was enacted to prevent the promotion of questionable ques-tionable schemes, and the Idaho Mining association has been using every effort to see that those engaging in wild cat mining deals are held to account under its provisions. |
