Show COPPER USE WILL SOfiljUT MILL Chloride Property Held by Arizona Reduction Co. Pushing Development. The old camp of Chloride is today one of the most active mining districts in the 'southwest, says the Chloride, Ariz., Herald. Her-ald. Prospective mine purchasers are coming in almost daily and rumors of new property transfers are frequent. New life has come into the camp in the past few months. Old ground that has been lying idle for years is again being opened up and values have taken a decided advance. ad-vance. Among the new companies the busiest group In the district is the old Copper Age, consisting of seven choice claims held by the Arizona Ore .Reduction company. com-pany. This is one of the most favorable locations in the Chloride area. The company com-pany is being financed by R. M. Martin of Los Angeles, and is practically a close corporation. A remarkable ore shoot has been opened up in this property at the 170-foot level. At this level a drift has been extended In eacli direction and the ore proved to be continuous for 300 feet. The width will average nearly three feet and the values run, we are informed, about ?-10 per ton in gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc. On the surface this same ore shoot has been proved by shafts, open cuts, trenches and test pits for more than 1500 feet. The property has recently recent-ly been examined by several prominent engineers representing Investors and pronounced pro-nounced one of the most remarkable in Arizona. The company Is pushing the work of sinking and drifting and has already developed de-veloped ore enough" to keep a 150-ton plant supplied. The excavation work is completed and foundations are now being put in for this mill. The plant for treating the ore will consist con-sist of a modern, up-to-date concentrating mill, with an auxiliary plant for converting con-verting the gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc into commercial metal on the ground ready for the market. The system has been thoroughly tried out and proved beyond be-yond the experimental stage. It is effective, ef-fective, efticient and economical and promises to create a decided change in the method of treating refractory ores in the southwest. This plant is expected to be In operation by February 1. In the meantime a big tonnage is being piled up on the platform and the various dumps readv for conveyance to the mill. Mining operations are in charge of a thoroughly experienced mine manager and mill construction In the hands of a capable capa-ble mechanical engineer. G. W. Peer is the company's resident manager and deserves de-serves great credit for the efficient and painstaking manner with which he has pushed development and the surface improvements. |
