Show HUG ORE BODY IN EXCELLENT PLACE Indications in American Con. Copper Are Pleas ing to Management. L. L. Smith, vice president and gen-i gen-i eral manager of the American Consolidated Consoli-dated Copper Mining company, the property prop-erty of which is located in the south fork of Big Cottonwood canyon, was down from camp yesterday with word that is highly pleasing to all interested directly in the company, and also to the hundreds who are watching with zeal the developments being made in this section of the Cottonwoods. The property of the American Consolidated Con-solidated Copper is exceptionally favored in its location, lying northwest of the j famous Cardiff, and sidelining the j Howell ground. Mr. Smith said yester-I yester-I day that, as previously announced, the I main tunnel, in 1202 feet, had cut the i Silver King fissure. The drift south on ! this fissure has now been followed 290 . feet, and in the last fifteen feet of development de-velopment comes the real news, for here the miners have followed a foot of car-! bonate ore that averages $30 per ton. j The significance of this lies in the fact) that the drift is apparently nearing tho ' main cross fissure, which is the one that J made the great Cardiff ore bodies. Mr. Smith says that this objective should be reached at almost any shift ! in the present stage of the working and is confident that when this is encountered encoun-tered the possibilities that will be revealed re-vealed will lead to quick and extensive operations. |
