Show PROPOSE ORDINANCE AGAINST EXCHANGES The sentiment for enactment of a city ordinance making it unlawful for any business house to exchange merchandise mer-chandise after once delivered to a customer cus-tomer is receiving the support of some of the principal business institutions of the city. The purpose of the proposed pro-posed ordinance is the elimination of one possible means of the spread of contagious disease. Firms that have approved such an ordinance include Keith-O'Brien ' company, com-pany, Auerbach company, Walker Brothers Dry Goods company, Z. C. M. I. and L. & A. Cohn company. It is proposed that no return of goods to any business house for exchange may be made without the indorsement of the city health department. This would not make exchange of goods impossible where vitally necessary, but would insure in-sure the public against spread of disease dis-ease from the practice or promiscuous and careless exchange, it is argued. j |
