Show SCORES DFFAMDUS iMSJFWO SET Record of Tussle for Championship Cham-pionship Between Chicago Chi-cago and Cincinnati. NEW YORK, Nov. 4. "Can you give the bore scores of those frames?" Such a request has come from many quarters since the publication of the articles ar-ticles on "Baseball of the Bygone Days." It was a series that dealt with baseball of the past, as related by James Wood, one of the most remarkable players of the early days of the diamond game. The scores the old-timers and the youngsters, too have asked for 'were those covering- the memorable games between be-tween the Chicago White Stockings of 1ST0, which Wood organized, captained and managed, and the famous Cincinnati Red Stockings. The requests were turned over to Mr. Wood, who v.ras kind enough to dig through his papers and turn over copies of the box scores. It will be noticed that the scores show only runs, hits (IB) and total bases. That is because those games were played in the era before the present pres-ent elaborate box scores came into vogue. Also ft will be seen that the name of the home club is on top of the final tabulation. tabu-lation. As previously explained by Mr. Wood, the visiting team always had last bat until along in the early 90's. The tabulation shows how the White Stockings led all the way in the first game, but in the second came from behind be-hind with an amazing rally and nosed out the team which a year before had gone through the season unbeaten, thus giving to the White Stockings the baseball base-ball championship.
