Show CAPTURE ALLEGED ROBBERS IN STORE Caught in Butcher Shop by Police; Bunch of Skeleton Keys Are Later Discovered. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, July 28. A capture that may mean wtate prison terms for three men was made by ofticers of the police department depart-ment early this morning when they caught the trio in the act of looting the Thomas butcher shop at 1800 "Washington avenue. The men gave their names as Charles Delaney, 58 years of age; James Wilson. 31, and F. R. Kackler, If. The police believe that other local robberies will be charged up to the three men before be-fore all of the evidence against them has been obtained. Tho first report concerning- this morning's morn-ing's robbery was given to the police by W. U. Whipple, 1X02 Washington avenue, when ho heard a noise in the Thomas shop, adjoining his place. Patrolmen Richard Pin cook and T. H. Blackburn and Patrol Chauffeur Gold Wheat responded re-sponded to the call. They not only found the three men In the store,' but discovered discov-ered that the trio had rilled four or five sacks with canned goods and other articles. During a search of the store an hour after arrest of the three men. the officers' found a bunch of skeleton keys, cleverly designed, which would be effective in operating op-erating almost any door lock, as well as turning a key that had been left in a lock. Of the three men. Faekler is the only one known to the local police, he having recently served thirty days for failing to take tadvantage of a "floater" order. |
