Show SEVEN RECRUITS TO GUARD ARE RECEIVED Utah Organizations Get No Additions, Despite Strenuous Efforts on Part of Recruiting Officers. Seven recruits to tiie national guard organizations of tlie intermountain country coun-try arrived at Fort Douglas yesterday to be equipped and trained before leaving to join, their commands. Of the seven, only one was from Utah. Four were from Idaho and two were from Montana. Part of the first group of recruits assembled at the fort have gone to the border, but with those Vho arrived yesterday there are now sixteen at the camp being drilled by Captain Thomas Braby. Despite tlie strenuous efforts put forth by the recruiting officers of the Utah guard organizations, practically no headway head-way is being made to fill the ranks of the Utah guard. Since recruiting, headquarters head-quarters were opened here almost a week ago, but four enlistments have been obtained. ob-tained. On the other hand, the call for recruits in other states of the intermountain intermoun-tain and western sections of the country have met with ready response, with the result that the organizations of those states are rapidly being filled to war strength. Temporary recruiting offices are to be opened within the next few days at Og-den Og-den and Slur ray. The offices at those points will be maintained until such time as the districts have furnished the required re-quired number of men. |
