Show FIND TUNGSTEN IN THE UINTA BASIN Special to The Tribune. VERNAL, July 13. Following a three months' search, the first tungsten mining min-ing claims ever recorded in the Uinta basin were put on record late this afternoon after-noon for the Janet Mining & Milling company of Provo. George A. Storrs of Provo and William O'N'eil of Roosevelt are the heaviest stockholders in the concern. con-cern. The claims, Tungsten No. 1 and Tungsten No. 2, are located in the new Three States mining section in Brown'Vp park, near Lin wood, and close to the Wyoming border. They are about sixty miles from here. A crew of seven men ia busy building a road to the location and at present tlie highway is within twenty miles of the claims. When it is completed the problem prob-lem of transportation will be solved, for a large truck will be used. There has been a rush of prospectors to the spot and Mr. Storrs has located several more claims. It Is also reported that this company has a number of copper claims that run as high as $100 per ton. They will be developed at once. |
