Show Blank Hopes to Sign Rowdy to Saint Contract Special to The Tribune. SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., July 13. Rowdy 'Elliott's successor as manager of the Oakland ball club will be named as soon as President Frank W. Leavitt returns re-turns from the special Coast league meeting meet-ing at Los Angeles. Elliott's resignation, already In the hands of the club management, has been accepted with the understanding that he will remain In charge until a suitable man is named. From Los Angeles comes a statement, given out by Leavitt, that he is considering a number of men, among them Frank Dillon, former manager of the Angels. Elliott, meantime, has been given permission per-mission to dicker with major league ball clubs. He has reason to believe McCredie recommended him to Cleveland and the prospects are he will land with that aggregation. ag-gregation.
