Many Of the leading lead-ing women tennis players of the country competed In the opening rounds of the open lawn tennis tournament for women at the Longwood Cricket club today. Miss Molla BJurstedt of Norway, the present national champion, came through the first and second rounds without the loss of a set, although Miss Marlon He mans of Boston caught the champion napping nap-ping in the first round and reeled off four games of the second set. Two former national title-holders. Mrs. George V. Wlgluman and Miss Evelyn Seara, also came through the second round successfully. The witiner of the tournament will play Miss Edith EtOtCfa of Boston, present holder hold-er of the chaUejige cup. for possession of the trophy for next year.
