Show MAY PREVENT FLOOD OF CHEAP PRODUCTS WASHINGTON, Sept. 27. At President Presi-dent Wilson's direction, the department of commerce and the federal trade commission com-mission have begun an investigation to find means to prevent a flood of cheap products from Europe on the American market at the end of the war. The president is convinced that extensive exten-sive economic readjustments will follow the restoration of peace and wants the United States to be ready to meet whatever what-ever conditions develop. Administration officials have not determined deter-mined whether any changes in the trade commission laws or the tariff will be necessary, but the investigation is expected ex-pected to develop that. |
