Harry Grant, noted automobile driver and twice winner win-ner of the VandarbUt cup race, was so ! badly burned today while contesting in i the elimination trials for the Astor cup 1 race at the Sheepshead Bay track that : he will not be able to enter the contest next Saturday. Grant's automobile caught I fire while he was traveling at a 100-mile -an-hour clip, and Grant and his mechanician mechani-cian were enveloped in dames. They brought the machine to a stop and j jumped out. but Grant was burned se-I se-I verely on the less and arms and was taken 10 a hospital. The mechanician es-I es-I caped with slight burns.
