Show FORMER SALT LAKER PRAISES HOME TOWN W. W. Anness, Once Here in Drug Business, Busi-ness, Quoted in Interview by Omaha Paper. The following from the Omaha (Neb.) Dally Bee Is complimentary of Salt Iake from an interview with Wilber W. An-ness, An-ness, who formerly was engaged in the drug business at 876 First avenue In this city. Mr. Anness married a Salt Lake girl in 1904, Miss Grace M. Heikes, who was a teacher in the Lowell school, and .since returning to Nebraska has served twice In the legislature of his state and is looked upon as a prominent Nebraska political figure, with a future yet to hear from: Wilber W. Anness, the well-known druggist of Dunbar. Neb., and who has a state reputation as one of the best public speakers In the west, has just returned from a five weeks' trip to the Panama-Pacific exposition. He was accompanied by Mrs. Anness, who stopped off on the way back at Sal t Lake CI ty, Utah, to visit her j mother. Mr. Anness passed through Omaha on his return, and in conversation conver-sation with a reporter said that, while the coast country was attracts ive to the tourist, still Salt Lake City was the great Mecca for the sightseeing public, and that after all It was the prettiest place they had seen anywhere in their travels, with Its running water and numerous drinking fountains on the street, shade trees, beautiful lawns and homes and best hotel accommodations, accommoda-tions, with an Ideal climate. Mr. Anness An-ness said that Clarence Post, a prominent O- S. L. railroad official, told him that for the month of July the average dally number of tourists tour-ists in Salt Lake City was over 5000 per day, and for August It would average 6000 per day. |
