An attempt to compromise the public market fight was made by officers of the Growers' exchange it nn Informal mooting moot-ing of the city commission yesterday. They proposed to meet the demands of the city to sell at retail at nil times when called upon to do so If the city will withdraw with-draw from Jta Intention of establishing u market of Its own, and allow the exchange to operate its market as heretofore on Second West street. The offlrers said they favored co-operation with the ''My, rathor than competition, compe-tition, but thev wore not willing to drop their own market plans and patronize the ilty's market.
