Indignant members of the congregation of Dr. Jacob E. Price, who accused him of undue un-due familiarity with women members of his flock, met here tonight at the homo of their attorney to lay plans to change tho aspect of tho verdict of tho ecclesiastical court, which found Dr. Price guilty only of indiscretion, vindicating vindi-cating him of the moro serious charges against him. It was determined to place the unsigned postal cards received by two of the pastor's pas-tor's accusers In tho hands of tho postal authorities. Those who attended the protest pro-test meeting said they would welcome a slander suit by Dr. Price. It would give them an opportunity, thoy said, of substantiating sub-stantiating tho charges In full. One of tho most actlvo of Dr. Price's flock said: "No preacher shall ever apeak to me again; I will not even let one say a prayer over my dead body." Tho minister waa charged with having repeatedly attempted to kiss women mom-bers mom-bers of his flock. Mrs. E. J. Lcgcr was one of the principal witnesses against the defendant. -Sho charges that on ono occasion, when he was her guest, he caught, held and kissed her, at tho same tlmo asking, "What are you going to do about it?" |
