The development work inaugurated at tho Wilbert mine on Little Lost river, Idaho, when tho mill was closed somo Umo ago, Is being prosecuted vigorously. vigor-ously. The incline shaft started from tho tunnel tun-nel level at that tlmo Is being pushed on down to the 200 level below the tunnel. At a vertical depth of 100 feet below the tunnel level a station was cut and a crosscut run forty-eight feel, to catch tho vein. Drlftlmr on the vein on this level Is now in progress, about thirty feet having hav-ing been accomplished when Manager Harry Knight hail the last word from tho mine. The vein hero Is narrow, as It was 100 foot above, but the .grade of ore Is excellent and the outlook Is good. It has been found that the vein which at the tunnel level dipped to the east has. where cut 100 feet lower, changed Us course and thero dips to tho west. The point In the tunnel where tho Incline shaft was started Is at a vertical ver-tical depth from the surface of about 150 feet. Because of the continued low price of lead It Js uncertain when the mill will start again. Whenever It Is decided to put It Ja commission the mine will be ready to furnish a tonnago to keep it busy. |
