Show OSCAR KISTER, LEADING BUSINESS MAN, IS DEAD Was Prominent in Mining, Stock Raising Rais-ing and Ranching for Many Years. Oscar H. Kister, aged 60 vcars, prominent prom-inent in Utah and "Idaho business affairs af-fairs for the last twenty years, and a resident of Salt Lake since 1801, died yesterday at Holy Cross hospital after a long' illness. The cause of death was cerebral meningitis, lie was a member mem-ber of the Knights Templar lodgo, and ; the funeral services Friday at ! p. in., ! will be conducted by that organization at Masonic temple. Mr. Kister was a native of Kansas, but had lived a most active lifo in tho far west, having gone from his homo state to California thirtj'-seveu years ago. For many years he engaged in widely varied vocations, including storo-lcoeping, storo-lcoeping, placer and quartz mining and ranching." His mining interests took him to Bodie, Cal., and ho later served three terms as clerk and auditor of Mono county, California. He came to Utah in IS'91 and ombarked in the sheep business. lie closed out in this to accept tho management of tho Snlinn Stock company, which he hold for tea years. At tlio time of his death ho was connected with tho Aberdeen Valley Val-ley Investment company. 'Ho is survived by his widow in this city and a brother and two sisters in Nebraska. |
