Two candidates have formally announced themselves ,ih aspirants for the office of city auditor, but as yet there have been no definite announcements regarding candidates for the other places on the ticket to be voted by Ogden citizens thhi fall. In other words, there are as yet no avowed candidates can-didates for mayor-commissioner and four-year four-year commissioner. City Auditor XV. D. Van Dyke, Jr., has announced that he will bo a. candidate for ro-clcctlon and the only other avowed candidate for the office at this time is Arthur F. L.arson, a deputy county clerk. In announcing his candidacy today, Auditor Audi-tor Van Dyke Issued the following statement: state-ment: "I am compelled to be a candidate for re-election to satisfy myself. The plans that 1 have adopted In the office of auditor audi-tor cannot be fulfilled In one term. Practically Prac-tically all of my tlrst year in office wns devoted to straightening the accounts of the old administration and the remaining remain-ing year has seen my plans working out so well that I am anxious to see them to a successful conclusion. "I appreciate tho Importance of tho position po-sition I hold and have endeavored to discharge faithfully th0 duties of this office to tho best of my ability. Therefore, There-fore, in Justice to myself, and. I believe, to the general public, I seek re-election." So fax Mayor A. G- Fell and Commissioner Commis-sioner J. C. Nj'e have Issued no positive posi-tive statement regarding- their probable action concerning their respective offices. It is regarded as probable that both will be candidates for re-election Among the others who have been suggested as probable prob-able candidates for one or other of the commlssloncrshlps are H- M. Rowe, T. IT. Carr. Senator "William Craig, Dan Ellis and Oscar Madson. |
