The operations of two alleged confidence men after they had traded a $3 "phoney" watch for a S50 timepiece and a In cash were nipped in tho bud today when W. C. He was looking for a reliable pawnshop at which to obtain a loan on the watch. In the end Nelson traded his $G0 watch and $15 cash to the stranger for the "phoney." When he returned to the passenger station, tho young farmer had a suspicion that he had been defrauded, so ho showed the watch to a train conductor. con-ductor.
