Show AUTOMOBILE HEARSE STRANDED IN DESERT William A- Peck Comes to Salt Lake to Secure Repairs for Machine Carrying Body to New York. William A. Pock of Los Angeles was in Salt Lako City yesterday getting repairs for his automobile hoarse which is strandod in Skull valloy, about seventy-five miles west of Salt Lako City. Carrying out tho last wishes of his friend, Michael Moran of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, who was dying in Los Angoles, Mr. Peck bad. tho body placed m a metal casket and started with it for Brooklyn, where the dying man requested re-quested to be buried besido his wife. Bad roads were encountorod by the party, which consisted of Mr. Peck, R. H. Hambloy, an undertaker of San Diego and B. F. Mayo, mechanician, and the final Btrotch, according to Mr. Peck, was just an array of rough boul-dom boul-dom When ho left the machine and the other members of the party, the tires wore all punctured and a spring was broken, making progress without help impossible. So Mr. Peck left the others in charge and came on for repairs re-pairs and the necessary assistance. He returned last night and expects to be ready to leavo Salt Lako City for tho east by Saturday morning. Tt was part of the reqnost of Mr. Moran that his body be taken to Brooklyn for burial bv automobile, and that his friend, Mr. Peck, go with it. |
