Tomorrow's game with the Salt Lake club will be the last game of the Union association season In this city. The three remaining games of thij aeries with Salt Lake will be played on Lucas field In die capital, beginning Friday and ending with Sunday's game. Tomorrow night the Ogden players will be the guests of honor at a benefit performance per-formance for the Ogden club to bo given by the Arlington stock company at the Ogden theater. Every Ogden fan Is expected ex-pected to be on hand to help swell the fund a little. The home team won another from Mc-Closkey's Mc-Closkey's Skyscrapers today. It was a good game from the viewpoint of the crowd, but not much 'of a battle from the viewpoint of a disinterested spectator who wanted to see a baseball same. Huelsman Steals Third. About tho only sinking feature of the game was Captain Huclsman's steal of third base, a atunt which the big fellow pulled while Knight was winding up. He stole It standing up, too. PVjur or five double plays made the game snappy at times, but for the most part it was Just ordinary fielding, with Ogden having a good shade on Salt Lake. Erlckson started the pitching for Salt Lake, but he could not make it go, and. retired in favor of Johnson, after the Ogden Og-den team had a. lead that was never overcome. Johnson pitched good ball, allowing al-lowing only four hits In the five Innings he was on the wood. Numerically Salt Lake outhlt the home club, but their hits were not so hard as ihe swipes of the Knights, nor were they made when they meant runs. Ogden Begins Early. The visitors made a noble attempt at scoring In the first Inning, when three successive singles filled the bases after ihe two first men had popped out.- But the hit to send across the tally was not forthcoming, and the third man was put out, leaving Salt Lake without a scratch on their scoreboard. It was different with the home club, for they made three scores In their half of the first. "Wessler led off by dropping drop-ping one Just over first, and Woolums drew a pass. Both scored when Cobb ent a two-bagger Into right center. The next two went out and then Blausser hit it for two more bases into left. Moore-head's Moore-head's Infield out retired the side. Salt Lake Gets One. IMcCIoskey got a tally in the third when Huelsman started with a triple to deep center. Bauer drew a base. Davis struck out and Schlmpff hit a roller down to Woolums. The fielder had plenty of time to head off Hueleman at home, but lie chose to make a certain out of Schlmpff. Pendleton fanned and the side was out. The Kitty boys got two in their half of the third, and that, too, after two were out. To begin with, Cobb doubled to left center. Tie was so successful in stretching his hit for two bases that he tried to make third when Jones hit a little one directly Into tho pitcher's hands, and he was an easy out. Rlsberg sent a two-bagger Into left center, a hit that almoBt cleared the fence. Jones scored on It. and Rlsberg came home on Blausser's double immediately afterwards. Johnson Goes In. Johnson took up the load and the legacy which Erlckson had left him at the beginning of the fourth. Pourrov hit one through third for two bases. Knight followed with a single to right, Pourroy going tc third. He scored when Knight headed toward second, arawlng the throw. The pegging of McClain was none too good and the stopping of Schlmpff was Just as bad, so between them there was nothing to prevent Pourroy scoring. The play put Knight on second and he Immediately went to third on a wild pitch. Wessler was thrown out by Pendleton Pen-dleton and Woolums hit to Bauer, who heaved home to head off Knight. The latter was finally run down between third and home, but he kept up the see-saw long enough to permit Woolums to reach third. Cobb was hit and beat It for second. McClain threw down and Wool-urns' Wool-urns' headed for home. The return was poor and the runner was safe. Jones retired the side by skying to Murphy. Skyscrapers Take Two. The visitors crawled up a couple in the fifth. Spencer was passed and came all the way home on Huelsman's double to left. Here Is where "Huelsman stole third. He scored when Bauer drove one to Knight that was too hot to handle. A double play assisted in retiring the oldc, In Ogden's half there almost was an- Wlns. Next Game. Blausser hit a hot one first base way and .went to third on Moorehead's single. This time McClain and Schlmpff worked it all right, for the throw drawn by Moorehead was returned neatly and Blausser was nailed. Moorehead went to third on a wild pitch, but he died there. There was a double play by each side In the sixth, which helped to hurry things along. In the seventh Salt Lake grabbed one. After Murphy had died by the infield route, Spencer popped a safe one over third, Huelsman filed to Cobb. Bauer drew a base, which sent Spencer up one. Then Davis smashed It to center, scoring scor-ing Spencer. Bauer tried for another tally, but was caught at thc pan. And that was about all, the remainder of the game being a pretty fair article of baseball. . The teams' will play again at 3:15 o'clock tomorrow. SALT LAKE. AB. R. IT. PO. A. IB.
