Show LACK OF WATER IS MB RESULTS Combination Fraction Is at Partial Capacity Only in Milling Plant. Special to Tho Tribune. GOLDFIELD, Nov., Aug. 2S. The Combination Fraction company has been treating about fifty tons of ore daily of lato nnd making preparations for the handling of 100 tons every twonty-four hours in Its leased mill, a mile north of tho mine. The plant is now in condition to handle that tonnage, but tho continued shortage of water has prevented operating operat-ing at full capacity ror tho past few months. PIpo lines have been laid from the mill to the old Plazel loaso shaft on the Miss Jesslo claim of tho Laguna, and another abandoned lcaso shaft, In which there is a. sufficient flow of water wa-ter to Insure an ample supply for tho Fraction company's milling operations. The Nevada Coldfield's mill of twenty stamps, which the Fraction company ls operating under lease, has been greatly improved in point of efficiency during tho past few months, and besides boing ca-pablo ca-pablo of treating an Increased tonnage, It Is so equipped as to make an unusually unusu-ally high saving of the gold content of tho ore. Recently an oro classifier was Installed, which has served to expedite the process of treatment, and permit of handling a materially larger tennago than heretofore. In tho mine workings development has continued to expose a large tonnage of excellent milling ore, particularly on the 500-foot level, and the management has every nssuranco of maintaining operations opera-tions upon a profitable basis for some time to come. No orc of commercial valuo has been exposed on tho 750-foot level, as has been reported In some quarters, quar-ters, but. tho vein at that depth Is of large size and encouraging appearance. On tho .'JOO-foot level and the next drift below, where the vein is being dovol-oped dovol-oped from which a large amount of good oro was taken last year, the ore Is showing show-ing up In gratifying shape, and a good production will be made from this vein, which is djsllnct from that from which ore is being stoped at the GOO level. The annual report of the Combination Fraction company has been delayed, owing ow-ing to the absenco from camp of George Wlngfleld, tho president of tho company, but It Is expected that It will be Issued shortly. In connection with the report to the assessor, as required by law, for tho purpose of levying the bullion tax. It is known that tho company has an ample treasury reserve to carry on extensive development for some time, even In the absence of profits from Its milling operations, opera-tions, and the latter are assuming such proportions that there Is apparently no room to doubt the concern will soon be placed upon a profit-earning basis such as to admit of the payment of dividends. Tho stock of the Fraction has remained at an almost stationary point and has been little arfectcd by the fluctuations of the rest of the list. |
