Show Situation in Montana and Idaho Favorable, and io Further Fear Is Felt. SEVENTY-THREE TOTAL OF GOVERNMENT'S MEN LOST Only One Crew Still Missing, but Members Are Believed to Be Safe. MISSOULA, Mont., Aug. 28. Reports sent in to the district officer of the forest for-est service today indicate that all of tho men employed by tho government as fire fighters In the fire-swept districts have been accounted for with tho exception of one crew, believed to be safe in the Idaho Ida-ho Clearwater country, and a few men still missing in the neighborhood of Wallace. Wal-lace. The casualties among the government's govern-ment's men still total seventy-three, and It Is believed by District Forester Greeley that this flguro is practically final. The only crew from which no reports have been received Is that of Ranger Thennon. which crossed the Bitter Root divide through Lost llorso canyon Just before the fire broke out. This crew was headed head-ed for a point outside thij fire zone, and It Is believed that the men are safe. A relief parly was sent out today, however, how-ever, to make certain of the safety of the crew. Reports from all sides today aro favorable. fa-vorable. Tho relief work over, tho forestry for-estry people aro gradually reorganizing their forces and nothing less than another an-other hurricane can make tho situation serious again. Tho fires on the Cabinet forest arc again under control, and reports from the north Indicate that the situation on tho Kootenai and Blackfoot forests is favorable. United States Forester Graves Is still here and will remain on the ground until un-til there has been a mnterlal change for tho better.
