Show II Grading for Bingham & Gar-I Gar-I field Railroad Now in I Progress. I NEW TRAIN ON SALT LAKE ROUTE BEGINS OPERATION ; Large Crowds of People Visit New Gould Passenger Station Sta-tion Daily. "Work on tho' Bingham & Garfield railroad, rail-road, which was begun about two months ago, Is now progressing satisfactorily. Already approximately -10 per cent of tho grading has been completed and work is now going on at the rate of 15 per cent each month. It will bo several montns yet, howover. before any rails will bo laid. The building of the road will necessitate ne-cessitate the boring of three tunnels of considerable length, and work on these already has been begun. While tho Bingham & Garfield railroad will be only a trifle over seventeen miles long, the construction Js the heaviest attempted at-tempted In Utah since the building of tho Tintlc line of the Denver & Rio Grande more than ten years age Tho maximum grade of the roiid will be 25 per cent, and the maximum curvature, 6 degrees, with a small number of curves. Starting at a point In Carr's fork and running along the north side of the canyon can-yon above the present line of the Denver & Rio Grande, tho road will afford a most magnificent panorama of tho valley and city. |
