Subscriptions came in 1 ; !H ffi 3 hordes from every quarter of the contest district and more votes were issued than at any otfter time during the contest. I j H JR - But four days remain in the good-natured tug of war. It will require considerable effort on the part of those who failed to take de- 1 j H p P . cided advantage of the last inducement to catch up with the present leaders, but in some districts one or two more subscriptions would I j ;H K t ! turn the tide of defeat to that of success. No one knows how many votes any one particular candidate has and every one of the four 1 ; !H B : j remaining: days should, therefore, be filled with the hardest kind of effort. 1 j H !If I I The contest positively ends Wednesday evening, August 31, J at 10 o'clock. There will be no more inducements of any kind lit I I the original schedule of votes will prevail the closing days of the 111 h race. The contest is now a matter of hours, and every hour should c I ; be a busy one for those who have the welfare of winning at heart. Roles Governing the Close of I . the $10,000 Contest f" f At 10 o'clock sharp Wednesday evening the ballot box will U be sealed by the judges, and neither votes not subscriptions will I p j I be accepted after that time. The ballot box will then be placed j I J f in the -vault, while the subscriptions are being checked up. As j p. j p soon as this is accomplished the judges will again meet, count j I the votes and make the awards. The Tribune and Telegram will j I I have nothing whatsoever to do with the final counting of the votes I I j or making the awards. j I - Candidates residing outside of Salt Lake City must have all j their votes and subscriptions in the contest office by 10 o'clock j 1 1 8 I Wednesday evening. This will necessitate bringing in the orders j f j I and ballots in person or mailing them not later than Tuesday j I j evening. X i' 1 ?
