MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR NEXT LEGISLATURE Preparations for the eighth regular session ses-sion of tho stato legislature aro under way. Secretary of Stato Charles S. Tlngey Wednesday addressed a communication to tho City Council saying that the state board of examiners has auth6rized him to procure and enter into a contrnct, without with-out advertioing, for quarters for tho eighth regular scosion of the legislature, which will convene Jnnuary 11, 1000. The quarters on tho fourth floor of the City and County building occupied by the last session of tho legislature an suitable, Mr. TIhgey says, and lfo wishes to know at the earliest convenlenco of the City Council if tho city will leaso these quarters to tho otato for a period of sixty day3, beginning January 11 next vcar, and at what rental. The communication will bo presented to tho City Council Monday night.
