Show HECLA Mil OSES PLEASE OFFICEAL i President Freed Returns From Reaver County Mine With Good Reports. COMPANY'S STOCK IS NOT POOLED AT ALL j Facts Given About Youngster of Beaver That Now Is Being Accomplished. President Lester U. Freed, of tho Ilecla Mining company, is back from a visit lo tho property in Beaver county. The Hecla is a youuc proposition, proposi-tion, work not having been started until un-til a vonn ajro, yot in that ttmo the management has shipped six cars ot splendid rock, and two moro card are now on the dumps, which will bo Bent (0 market before tho roads got too bad. When asked by Tho Tribuno for an opinion of the property, Mr. Freed said: , I "The Hecla looks extraordinarily well to me. Wo aro now at tho point whero , the tapo line can bo placed on the ores for actual measurement, Tho sold ores especially appealed to mc. In the upper up-per tunnel wo have drifted on a four-tcen-inch body for twortty-eiffht feet, the avorago of tho oro boing $85 per ton and over. Thcro is ore yet in tho drift fnce, ho the real extont of this rcsourco in uott now known. Tho bijr-ccst bijr-ccst 8howinfr in tho property is in the lower tunnel, where wc have m tapped this same ore shoot in three different places. The lower tunnel gives us a better vertical depth of 200 feot on this ore, and the general avcrago of values is practically tho same there as it was above. "Wo have some fino looking silver and lead showings as well, but so far not sufficient development work hns been dono to show ua oxnctly what we have in this character of ore. Wc have found numerous deposits or pockets of this class of ore; from ono wo took out five tons, but we are searching for tho largo body of oro towards, or from, which these deposits aro making, and wo fool confident that wc will find it. This winter wo are going to push development work with all possible cnerg and by the months of spring tin Jecla should not occasion any doubt whatever as to Just exactly whero it bolongs in tho estimation estima-tion of the world. "There is one impression I deem it ; only fair to correct, nnd that is tho notion that the Ilccln stock is pooled. That is not true; there aro 150 stockholders stock-holders in tho compan-, and no stock is pooled whatever.' The Hecla is close lo the famous old Cave mine, with a production record of $3,000,000, and the Lincoln property Hkowise, whoso record of production iu tho earlv davs amounted to $300,000. During his trip to Beaver county Mr. Freed made au inspection of the Ked. Warrior property, which he deems ono of tho splendid mines of tho county. Ho states that Mr. Mcrritt, when he took charge of tho property, paid no attention whatovor to the long tunnel and innumerable drifts and crosscuts that tho early operators had driven in their vain search for ores, but he went on tho other bide of the hill nnd drove a shaft only a short distance into the shipping ores. Following the salo of a big block of his Hecla slock to President Freed, General Managor J. M. Reynolds resigned re-signed froui that position nnd Mr. Freed was elected to that position.
