Show W. C. T. II. APPROVES FIGHT OinWCLE JOE" Resolution That Leaves Nothing to Be Guessed at Unanimously Unani-mously Adopted. DENVER, Oct. 28. The National TYoman's Christian Temperance union convention today adopted with practical practi-cal unanimity a resolution commending the efforts of churches to defeat tho re-election of Joseph G. Cannon a3 a member of Congress. The resolution, which was introduced bv Mrs. Mary E. Kuhl, president of the Illinois C. T. U., follows: "Hosolvcd, That we, the women of tho W C. T. U., in convention as sembled, do hereby express a most I ; hearty commendation of tho action ! taken by tho Methodist Episcopal church and the several churches in I their brave effort to defeat the clec-( clec-( tion of Speaker Cannon to our national Congress because of his persistent opposition op-position to the many reform measures which haye been proposed by intelligent intelli-gent bodies." , The convention also adopted a resolution reso-lution introduced by Mrs. Mary F. Lovcll, superintendent of the department depart-ment of mercy, pledging efforts to suppress every form of cruelty and to "work for legislation prescribing humane hu-mane education in tho public schools in the states where it docs not already exist.
