In this affidavit he asks i the court to Include the members of the 1 j city council In the alternative writ of I mandate issued several days ago against ! Mayor Brewor and City Recorder Brown. The reason stated Is because the council Jj met In special session, October 21, and ' i parsed a resolution reconsidering Its pre- Vi vlous action in granting tho license on ' October 12. I 1 The negro says that he is Informed and ; i believes that the action of tho city offi- ' cials in refusing him a license is duo to tiie fact that there Is already a negro saloon in the city and another conducted by a member of his race would be too many. The writ of mandate is returnable next Friday, when the mayor, city recorder and probably tho city council -will appear ; in the district court and show causo why tho license be not Issued. |
