He was springing a 15-oot 15-oot hole preparatory to loaaing with black powder. He had sprung the hole three times and evidently it had become be-come superheated for ho was just tamping the third stick in tho fourth charge when it exploded, tearing his hand and filling his faco and eyes with fine gravel and powder. The unforttinato man was immediately immediate-ly brought to Lehi with a mulo team and Dr. Holbrook spent an hourJ picking tho pieces of gravel out of his oyes and sowing up tho wounds and says that hi3 patient will recover without any serious results. |
