'ALL UNCLEAN ' PRIESTHOOD. " The Tribune " has noted the connection connec-tion between the lecherous and treasonable treas-onable priesthood hero and President Roosovelt. ' This connection accounts for tho President's fervent and unwarranted un-warranted support of Smoot, which secured se-cured him in tho seat in tho Senate that otherwiso he probably could not havo retained. We havo noted, also, from time to time, tho blatant and triumphant claim of tho church speakers speak-ers and writers that President Roosevelt Roose-velt is their special friend and protector, pro-tector, A good deal of bitter chewing over this matter has been indulged in by the Smoot "mouth," Its latest utterance utter-ance is that to say jthis of President Roosevelt is to say that he is "a partner part-ner of all uncleanness." Well, that certainly is no compliment to the Mormon Mor-mon priesthood. What Tho Tribune has charged is that ho is in a compact with them to further their interests, while they render the equivalent, which they are ablo to do by giving him their political support in Utah and other oth-er places -where they havo a strong vote. The Smoot "mouth" says that this is charging him with being "a partner iu all uneleanness." It is rather an unfortunate expression of tho Smoot "mouth," and wo can hardly believe that the apostle revised the ut- j terance, or he would have recalled it before it saw the light. Wo consider, for instance, that there is "uneleanness" in'th'o oflico whence v the Smoot "mouth" railings emanate And whilo tho Mormon priesthood dominates that concern thoro is "uneleanness" "un-eleanness" thero besides that which thoy bring to it. Thoreforo, tho Smoot "mouth" goes further than wo do when it churgeR that in tho Mormon leadership is "all uncleanuoss." Wo concede that a goocl deal of it lies with thorn, but not all. Let tho Smoot "mouth" settle that with tho priesthood priest-hood tho best it can. Wo moroly draw attention to tho curiouB way of putting it that is indulged in by tho Smoot "mouth," where, in its comments it imputes to tho Mormon priestly rulers "all uneleanness."
