Show Jewish Women Give Grand Charity Ball Large Attendance, Perfect Appointments, Appoint-ments, Charming Gowns Are Features Fea-tures of Successful Event. When ono buys a ticket for a charity ball It causes a temporary feeling of something good accomplished, but when one uses the ticket and finds it quito as merry as a. dancing party can be, then oiin derives gonlilnu plcasuro from tho kindly act. Such was the thought, perhaps, per-haps, of many of thoso who attended tho dance last evening at Chrlolonscn's hall, when the women of tho Jewish Council were the hostesses at ono of tho largest ami most successful dances of the season. All the appointments were of tho nicest description, and seen on the floor wcro somo of the prettlcrtt evening gowns of tho year, full dress being tho rule, and many of the women appearing In truly artistic creations of tho modiste. Tho gucsta woro received by tho members mem-bers of tho reception committee, and shortly nftor 9 o'clock tho Chrlstcnsen orchestra, led by Prof. L. P. Chrlstonscn, struck up tho opening strains of Sousa'n "National Fenclbles" and tho grand march began, led by Gov. Cutler and Mrs. Jacob Morltz. Mr. Morltz and Mrs Cutler. Cut-ler. Other prominent members of tho Council of Jewish Women followed. From tho march tho music changed quite easily Into one of tho dreamiest of the waltzes of Strauss, and. from then on followed In quick succession a programme of ,two steps and waltzes which only Chrlstcnsen Chrlstcn-sen can glvo. and that the flno music was appreciated was shown In tho applause following each number. Punch was served in the small room and supper In the large room adjoining. Tho menu was of tho choicest and served upon small tables for six each, flowers and candles being placed upon each table, and tho effect In tho whole room being exceedingly ex-ceedingly pretty.
