Show RAILROAD LEGISLATION. Montana Senate Has Passed the Brenner Bren-ner Bill. HELENA. Mont., Feb. 7. -Tho Senate this afternoon passed tho Brenner railroad rail-road commission bill, which Is patterned after the Minnesota railroad commission law. Tho Governor, Secretary of State and W. C. King are named as commissioners, commis-sioners, Thu bill provides for an olectlvo commission com-mission of three members, to be chosen at tho next general election. In the meantime mean-time tho first commission Is to bo appointive, ap-pointive, Tho commission has powor to fix traffic rates, but tho railroad affected may go Into the courts to protest against any acts of the commission that may be regarded as unjust. Tho bill provides that no rebates shall bo given by the railroad companies and that thcro shall be no preferences or discriminations dis-criminations In rates to the disadvantage of any person, firm or corporation. Tho bill also forbids tho combination or pooling pool-ing of Inter-cats of different roads. |
