Show I Idra.' Thompson's Tea. Mrs. Ezra Thompson was hostess at a very pleasant afternoon tea Wednesday, Wednes-day, enjoyed by a large number of her friends. The beautiful home was very prettily decorated for the event, the decorations of the dining-room especially espe-cially being among the most artistic seen here in some time. Green and whlto were the colors used in the hall, vases of roses and syringa being effectively effec-tively arranged, with plumosa on chandelier chan-delier and the railing of the stairs. Deep red was carried out in the parlor par-lor decorations, where the receiving party stood'. A basket of eglantine, gracefully tipped, was hung In the center of the lace curtains ln the large bow-window. Vases of deep red roses and crimson rambler wore on mantel and table. Pink roses were used ln profusion In the living-room, bowls and vases of them standing on piano, cabinet cabi-net and mantel, a tall vase of wild parsley blossoms almost concealing the grate; In striking contrast to the rich blue of tho library Avails were the decorations deco-rations in gallardlas, marigolds and wild mustard blossoms, a great bowl of the latter standing in front of the grate, while low bowls and vases of gallardla nnd marigolds were on mantel and bookshelves. The dining-room looked especially cool and Inviting, the decorations deco-rations being In white and green. Here the wild parsley flower was used to tho best possible advantage, vases of it adorning mantel and sideboard, with great clusters of the flower on either side of the sideboard. Bowls of white carnations, roses and sweet peas were on the sideboard, while In addition to the parsley flower, a bowl of sweet elysium graced the mantel and several small vases of white sweet peas filled the niche. An oblong mirror extended nearly the full length of the dining table. This was outlined with ferns, and dotting the mirror and the table were tiny cutglass vases of Hhlte sweet peas. Swan-shaped bonbonlers filled with confections also dotted the mirror here and there, making It seem very like a lake. Sprays of plumosa were scattered all over the tablecloth, and confections ln green and white carried out the colors of the dining-room. Punch was served on the east porch, which took on a very Oriental-like appearance ap-pearance with its divans and cushlon3 and draperies. Assisting Mrs. Thompson Thomp-son ln receiving were Airs.
