Show ATHLETIC EVENTS FOR FORT DOUGLAS Col. Benjamin C. Lockwood, assisted by Athletic 'Officer Lieut. Royden 13. Be,ebo and other officers of tho post, are using every effort toward the complete com-plete success of the field-day exercises to be held at Fort Douglas on July 4. Fourteen events will be held during the day, beginning at 0 o'clock, each organization or-ganization of the line being required to enter at least one man in each individual in-dividual event and one team In at least one tqahi event. The rules of the American Amer-ican Athletic association will govern, wherever applicable, as the relative merit 6f men and teams will count in the determination of the representatives representa-tives from the post -at the department meet In the autumn. The Fort Douglas Doug-las band -will render piuslc during the day, and the soldiers would be glad to meet their friends at the post. The following fol-lowing are the events to come off. 100-yard dash; 120-yard hurdle; 220-yard 220-yard clash; running high Jump and running run-ning broad Jump, to be conducted simultaneously; si-multaneously; one-half-mile relay race; throwing the hammer; putting the shot, tug of war; throwing the baseball; three-legged race; wheel-barrow- race: (100 yards), and a game of baseball, to be played between the Twenty-second Battery team and one .from the Twenty-ninth Infantry. |
