Show The Dinwoodey Preoption. A very brilliant social event of the week was the reception at the home of Mr. and Airs. Henry AI. Dinwoodey on Tuesday evening, when some 400 guests were Invited to meet Mr. and Airs. Lc-roy Lc-roy Dinwoodey, The already artistic rooms were beautified with a wealth of June's fairest flowers, and the veranda veran-da was made attractive with Oriental furnishings, palms and numerous beautiful beau-tiful old mission lamps suspended all around the outside. In the reception hall, where the guests were greeted by Airs. George E. Dal ton and Airs. James E. Jennings, pure white carnations were used in decorations. A'ases of them filling the window and standing on halltree and tables. As the. guests entered the parlor, where they were received by Air. and Airs. Dinwoodey and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dinwoodey, a charming picture met their ejeo. On the east side of the house Is a large square window looking look-ing out upon the veranda. This was festooned with woodbine doited with pink roses, a large basket of the roses suspended by broad ribbons of pink hanging In the center of the window. Large bowls of roses banked the window sill, with smllax and sprlngerii adding effectiveness. On the grand piano was a tall vase atid a low bowl of deep red roses, while on mantel and cabinet was a single vase of exquisite white carnations. carna-tions. The library, furnished In rich dark .red, was attractive with a punch booth of Oriental stuffs, a circle of red electric elec-tric lamps lighting the booth, which was presided over by Mrs. Albert Walker. Walk-er. In the dining-room the decorations were In green and white. All about on mantel, sideboard and china cabinet were bowls of white flowering almond, syringa and roses, with sprlngerii festooned fes-tooned in graceful fashion. A centerpiece center-piece of rare lace covered the dining table, and on this stood a handsome sliver sli-ver candelabrum with three white candles. can-dles. Festooned about the candelabrum and forming a circle about the centerpiece center-piece were ropes of smllax, the centerpiece center-piece also outlined with six crystal candlesticks can-dlesticks holding white candles. Alassed about the base of the candelabrum and dotting the smllax were many roses. Assisting Air. and Mrs. Dinwoodey In receiving were Mr. and Airs. Leroy Dinwoodey. Din-woodey. In the dining-room Airs. He-ber He-ber M. Wells and Airs. Kenneth C. Kerr poured coffee, Mrs. Joseph A. Jennings served Ice, and assisting were Airs. R. P. Morris and Mrs. F. W. Jennings. |
