Show Beautiful Church "Wedding-. 2s'o more beautiful church wedding has taken place in thla city in many years than that of AIlss Nelle Pinker-ton Pinker-ton and Edward Moore at the Central Christian church. Tho bride is the daughter of Rev. Air. and Airs. T. W. Plnkerton, the former pastor of the church In which the ceremony . took place, and It Avas'he who read the beautiful beau-tiful Episcopal marriage service. The decorations of the church were unusually un-usually effective, and were greatly admired ad-mired by all the guests. White, pink and green were the colors seen, quantities quanti-ties of rosftrs, smllax, palms and wild parsley being combined In truly artistic fashion. The alslea down which the bridal party passed were covered with white cloth, as wnw the pulpit. An arch draped in white and supported by pillaro draped also ln whlto and decorated with ropes of smilax. extended the full length or the pulpit. At the steps leading to the pulpit the betrothal service way read, the bride and groom then passing up the ytalrs to the center of the pulpit beneath a magnificent wedding bell of whlto roses and carnations, the lower edge outlined with a row of electric lamps, and here the marriage service was performed. The entire back of tho pulpit was banked wlt,h palms, the deco-ratlona deco-ratlona all In all being among tho most beautiful evor seen here. . Preceding the arrival of tho bridal party at the church, Alisf Agatha Bcrk-hoel'o Bcrk-hoel'o glorious voice was heard ln "Dear. When I Gaze Into Thine Eyes"' (Roger.) and "I Love You Truly" (Carrie Jacobs Barnes), and while the service was being read Afit-y Berkhoel wing Schubert's "Serenade" as few here have heard It sung before. At the appointed ap-pointed time- for tho ceremony, Allst-Pearl Allst-Pearl Rothschild played the "Bridal Chords" from "Lohengrin," and at the close the "Wedding March" by Men-Uelopohn. Men-Uelopohn. Aa the strains from the "Bridal Chorus" filled the air. the bridal party proceeded to the altar, the maid walking down tho south, the ushers down the north aisle. First came the little cushion bearers, Frankle Jacobson and Effio Beltt one carrying a pink and' the other a green tatin cushion. Then followed In order Miss Carrie Sapplng-ton Sapplng-ton and James E. Orbioon, Miw? Blanche Casady and Max C. Meyer, Miss Gertrude Ger-trude Mayer and Royden Bowen. Each of the bridesmaids wore a dainty gown of pale crtc-n silk mulle over white taffeta, and carried a shower bouquet of pink sweet peas'. Juct In front of the bride walked her r:ter, Miss Citte Plnkerton. the maid of honor. Her gown was of white organdie, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink sweet peas. Last came the bridf leaning on the nrm of Dr. J, C. Baldwin, who gave her away. She was very lovely In her simple wedding gown of white organdie, the skirt trimmed with rows and rows of beautiful Insertion, and the bodice elaborately trimmed with lace, tire whole -whole made over an underlining of white taffc-ta. A long veil of tulle and a shower bouquet of while sweet peas completed the costume. At the altar the bridal party was- met by the groom, his best man, J. F. Grant, Jr., and Rev. T. W. Plnkerton. Following the service at the church a reception was held at the home of the-bride's the-bride's parents, when some sixty of the most intimate friends and relatives of the j'oung couple showered upon them congratulations and good wishes. The rooms were prettily decorated with rosey and sweet peas, pink and green ln the parlors and white and green ln the dining-room. In addition to the members mem-bers of the bridal parly, the bride and groom were assisted In receiving and entertaining their friends by Rev. Air. and Mrs. T W. Plnkerton, Dr. and Airs. S. C. Baldwin and the Misses Afarlon Sapplngton, Hazel Sapplngton, Nina Thompson and Elizabeth Weltz. Mr. and Airs. Aloore left on the late train for an extended visit in the Pacific Northwest and ln the East. They will be at', home to their many friends here after September 15 at 280 East Second South street. |
