Show Haywood Case Usider Advisement Denver Justice "Will Decide on Thursday Thurs-day Case of Western Federation Miners' Official. DENVER, Colo., May 9. After num- erous postponements, the trial of William D. Haywood, secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of the Western Federation Federa-tion of Miners, on the charge of desecration dese-cration of the flag, was held In Justice Hynes's court today. Haywood's defense, de-fense, which was presented by Attorney Attor-ney Horace N. Hawkins, was that the statute does not apply to pictures or representations of the flag, but only to the Hag Itself. The charge Is based on the issuance of a circular bearing a picture of a Hag and headed, "Is Colorado Colo-rado in America?" Justice Hyhcs will give his decision on Thursday next. |
