A remarkable remark-able diagram has been prepared by Dr. Toner, the statistican, which gives at a ciauce the facts of each censu in regard to the relative longevity of the two sexes; also another curious table, showiug the number of children born to each thousand women between the ages of fifteen and fifty at each censn? . This table reveals the startling fact that what is held up as the peeulhr shamed' Massachusetts, is equally true of all her sister States, it is shown that only one-half as many children are born to each thonsaud women us in 1800, and that there has been a regular reg-ular decrease from one decade of years to another. |
