| Show FAVORS BEER TRUST Moritz Says Billion Dollar Combine Is Coming 4 THINKS IT A GOOD THING 4 WILL BRIG CHEAPER AND BETTER BET-TER BEER t Says the Combine Would Close Down Two Local Plants and Centralize the Business Brewers Would Not Be Forced to Set Saloonkeeper Up In Business t Jacob Moritz vice president and manager of the Salt Lake Brewing company is a strong advocate of the I 1000000000 brewers trust that is the i outgrowth of the national brewers I convention held last week In Detroit He said yesterday that he knew nothing noth-ing of it except what he had read in the dispatches but he knew it was coming Und was positive that i would be a good thing for all concerned The local effect would be to closedown close-down two of the breweries and then the trusts business would be done through the Salt Lake Brewing company com-pany alone In this way the expense of two traveling men would be saved considerable capital would be released and the public would be furnished a better quality of beer As to the effects of the trust on the justness in general he said they would be excellent Now the brewers lose a great deal bj setting saloonkeepers up In business The buy outfits for them rent and fit up rooms and pay their city licenses lan of these go to4he bad entailing heavy losses on the brewers I The trust would cure this evil and the owners of the buildings would be the only losers There would be fewer and better saloons Then the cost of producing beer would be great reduced many poor breweries would be closed down and all the beer necessary to supply the demand de-mand would be produced by fewer breweries with much less labor and at a much lower cost The result would be a better grade of beer at less cost to the public and better profits with much less trouble to the brewers Aaron Kevser of the Fisher Brewing company said he had not given the business close attention for some time past and ws not prepared to speak ot the effects of the combination He knew nothing he said of the trust except ex-cept what he had read in the papers |
