| Show YOUNG PEOPLE AT SALTJUB TENTH WAD SUNDAY SCHOOL AND ALL HALLOWS Prize Baby Show Was the Great I Event of the Day Fraternal Unions Outing at Lagoon A joint excursion conducted by the Tenth ward Sunday school and the students of All H los college held forth at Saltalr yesterday The first trains out carried about 200 of the school people and their friends and about ninety students of the college In char e of Father Larkin Each of the later trains carried large crowds and by tran tme the last train arrived there 1 were nearly 1000 people present The weather and water were delightful delight-ful many taking advantage of the warmth of the latter A number of races and other events took place in the afternoon the prizewinners prize-winners of which were Race for girls under 6 years Edna Donaldson Race tcr girls G to 10 years Myrtle TJll Hill Race f V girls 10 to 12 Ida Vandyke Van-dyke Race for girls 12 to 15 Ida Rexie Race for young ladies i > s Spokes Threelegged race for girls Ruby Donaldson and Lillie Buckle I Race for boys under G years of age George Vandyke Race for boys 6 to 10 Irvine Poll Race for boys 10 to 1 J McDonald ThreeleIc race for boys J McDonald Mc-Donald and E Chamberlln L < nu lames Swimming race for young Jmes Miss Pearl Buckle The prize for the largest family pre ent was carried oft by C W Symons with a family of seven daughters The gentleman with the largest feet proved genteman E Braby The prize for the lady with the smallest feet was awarded to Mrs Sondtlem The prize baby show proved the big event of the day and many doting mothers were present A number were disappointed at finding that the age limit was 1 ea Ten entries under that age were made however and the committee consisting of C W Sy mons R J Jeseop and Mrs Howarth proceeded with the task of deciding which one to award the prize t After a careful examination they decided upon two of the ten but a there was but one prize to award it was settled by lot The baby of lr Ernshaw 631 West First South street drew the lucky number The baby of Mrs Rus South Seventh East was the sell 852 other fch the committee felt was worthy of a prize In the evening the air was delightful delight-ful and cool and a large crowd made merry to the strains of Christensens orchestra |
