| Show TRIBUTE OF FELLOW OFFICIALS County Commissioners Adopt Besolu tions and Adjourn The board of county commissioners was convened In special session yesterday I yes-terday morning to take suitable action I tera morng with reference to the death of Commissioner Com-missioner Armstrong Commissioners Rawllns and Whitaker and County Clerk Dunbar were present The following resolutions were drawn and adopted Whereas An allwise but Inscrutable Providence pursuing with inexorable disregard dis-regard to human desires its divine purposes pur-poses has permitted the taking from us by death Jer our beloved I associate I and chairman the Hon Francis Armstrong and Whereas His death though coming asa as-a merciful relief to sufferings which have been a painful and distressing as tbev have been protracted and unremitting Impresses us profoundly as being shocking shock-ing and untimely and untmev long faithful and eminently emi-nently successful career as a public offi nent car has earned the esteem and confluence of an entire community whose loss will I be as great and lamentable as that sustained sus-tained by his immediate family Now therefore be it Resolved By this board that while bowing the Inevitable decree which has thus Suddenly and relentlessly stricken down our beloved friend we express on the pages of the official records of the board our high regard and sincere admiration ad-miration for the regr noble qualities of heart and mind which have characterized our deceased associate during his lifetime life-time and which placed his private and public character above reproach We extend to tho community as well as to his surviving family our sincere sympathy in a bereavement which deprives us of a fearless upright able defender and promoter pro-moter of the peoples interests while cutting cut-ting off in his prime a fond and exemplary exem-plary father and husband beloved by his family and the people Resolve Further that these resolutions resolu-tions be spread upon the official minutes of the board and an engrossed copy be sent to the family of the deceased and be it further I Resolved That this board adjourn without with-out the transaction of further business out of respect to the beloved memory of our friend and that fd ilraplnps bo 1 hung upon the doors and tables of the boards room Action of the Council I was decided by members of the city council last evening that the council coun-cil and the heads of the municipal departments de-partments would attend in a body the funeral of the late exMayor Armstrong Arm-strong |
