traders notwithstanding the almost sensational character of the news affecting affect-ing the Russian crop The opening in September ranged from 76 to 77i compared com-pared with yesterdays closing price of 76V There was n6 great buying demand at first and for nearly half an hour the price hung around those figures Then the market began to broaden and once started the buying increased until the demand de-mand was the heaviest seen in the pit for several days News regarding the condition condi-tion of the Russian crop for some time more or less of a factor dominated everything every-thIng else in influence Beerbohms statement state-ment that the wheat crop was an entire failure In a largo area north of the Back sea was confirmed from many different ef sources during the day private cablegrams cable-grams being in some cases even more gloomy in character The first bulge carried car-ried September to 7 This was cal price and selling against those privileges II caused a slight The market opened firm and slightly higher 1 with the strong hog market Selling Sell-ing by packers caused a slight reaction but later the strength of grain helped provisions pro-visions and prices
