Calders park yesterday yes-terday There were six events on the card for the day and for the most part they were interesting The day was hot with little breeze and the track was in excellent condition First on the card was the 233 pace In which E G Haines gray mare I Windsplitter was the favorite with W K Stones Freddie K slated for second I sec-ond money Tom McCoys Zempler and Holt Bros Wiry Joe were the other I entries In the first heat the little gray started out like a winner but Zempler I caught her on the turn into the stretch I and the pair came down the half neck and neck Wiry Joe and Freddie K trailing far back The two leaders I I fought it out all around the track but coming into the stretch Zempler had I I r y jo I tjli I vJ t I fJ I t 1 i d 70J1 SKETCHED FROM LIFE AT THE TRACK rather the better of it and won out by scant length in 233 Wiry Joe and Freddie K were almost distanced Wlhdsplitter took the next three heats straight without much difficulty in 23314 22911 and 2294 The third heat was the prettiest of the race Wiry Joe struck a burst of speed at the start and opened up ten lengths in the first eighth On the back stretch he lost his feet and Windsplitter leading the I others by a length caught him at the turn Coming down the stretch the four were bunched very prettily Wiry Joe went up in the air just before he reached the wire and the others dropped him Windsplitter and Zemp her drawing away on the back stretch and making a pretty finish Wind splitter won by three length with I distanced Freddie K a bad third and Wiry Joe Teddie S Wins Trot The threeminute trot went to TeddieS Teddie-S a black colt driven by Tom McCoy Adelaide Complete was a warm favorite favor-Ite Laura C being the other starter Adelaide took the first heat in 245 Teddie S showed his mettle in the following heats taking them I straight in 239i 240 and 241 Adelaide Ade-laide had evidently worked herself out in the first heat In the second Teddio set her a hot pace ran her off her feet I U I HOW RIMAC LEFT OSCAR JULIUS on the back stretch and won the heat easily It was the same story in the two following heats the mare being unable un-able to keep down to business at all Laura C was never in the nice and was distanced in the last heat At the start of the half mile dash In which Ezra Thompsons Ben Bolt W Rochesters Tampa Maid and W E Stones Miss Ramson were matched for a 200 purse there was some little fun Ben Bolt with Joe Nattress up proved fractious and pitched all over the track to the huge delight of the crowd One good start was passed by by a mistake of the starters and the horses were finally sent off with Miss Ramson ridden rid-den by D Rochester a good four lengths to the clear under the wire Ben Bolt went after the bay mare nobly the Maid hugging his Hank One length I he made up onthe back stretch and the three came down the finish at a pelting rate Another length Ben Bolt closed up in the last furious rush but the lead was too great and Miss Ram bon romped in a winner by two lengths from Bon Bolt Evans on Tampa Maid being three lengths back Tlme051 QuarterMile a Pretty Race The quartermile dash had seven I starters There
