will leave here today to take charge of the Sunnyside mine a foreman For sometime some-time he has been assistant forman In the Castlegate mines He Is well quail fled A short time ago he took the prize for the best method of ventilating mines having among his competitors some of the most practical miners and foreman In the district Mark Petrlc an Austrian while unloading un-loading mine rails out of a box car last evening got a painful and severe cut on the head by a rail striking him He says that It was done thoughtlessly by those throwing them out of the car Dr Asadoorlan dressed the wound and Petric will be at work again in a day or so Joseph Senalgi a miner got a blow In the eye from a piece of coal flying from the end of his pick Joseph Thomas and Andrew Wallace two of Scoflelds respected citizens were Castlegate visitors Mr Evan Thomas of Cleveland is here and will return home today taking tak-ing with him his daughter Ir John Jones Ir Jones will stay for several Correspondence Springville June 15 Today Marshal Gemmell arrested Moroni Chllds on a charge of assault and battery preferred by his father Thomas Childs an aged citizen of this place Childs resisted the officer but was finally arraigned when he pleaded not guilty He was given ten days inthe county jail by Justice Boyer Young Childs has been slightly demented for several years and has been for a time In the asylum On the return of Judge Booth of the Fourth district court Childs will probably prob-ably again be examined for his sanity An exodus of Springville fishermen has been going on all day but so far no startling catches are reported Alexander Found Guilty Special Correspondence Heber June 15 Charles Alexander of Midway stands condemned for the crime ot cattlestealing having been found guilty by a jury The case was given to the jury about 11 oclock yes 1 terday forenoon and after being out about an hour they returned Into court with a verdict of guilty Sentence will be passed upon him on June 30 Pending Pend-ing sentence Alexander is held on 1000 bonds The case against Baum chsrgea with grand larceny came up yesterday afternoon The defendant in this case is accused of stealing thirtytwo head of sheep last February the property of Thomas Murdock of Charleston A number of witnesses were examined The case will probably go to the jury about noon Spring City Happenings Madsen Bishop J A Allrsd performed the ceremony after whlchi the company repaired to the dining room where an elegant repast was served A number of distinguished guests were In attendance and many beautiful and costly presents were given the happy pair A farewell party will be tended Charles Olsen at the opera house this evening The young man leaves on Tuesday next for a mission to the northern
