THE FARM, acquired in September, 1975, for church agricultural work and food production services, sold for $4,000 an acre. Melchizedek Priesthood leaders from five participating Bountiful wards stayed until sunset Wednesday night to celebrate the long-awaited "mortgage burning" cere mony. Stake Pres. Harold Yancey and counselors Burton Bur-ton Talmage and Glenn Goodrich Good-rich paid tribute to the workers who were instrumental in the farm's initial organization. IN 1977, LDS Church officials offi-cials adopted a policy that they would participate in the purch ase of land and equipment within the stakes. As a result, $47,000 worth of mortgage payments were dropped from the indebtedness scale of the five Bountiful wards.
