Show Bus Fare Rises FARMINGTON A new fare for riding the Utah Transit Authority buses went into effect Wednesday. Wednes-day. July I , resulting in an across-the-board increase of 5 to 10 cents per ride. AN INCREASE of 10 cents from 40 to 50 cents will be charged as a base fare during peak hours, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each additional zone, after the first two, will also be increased from 40 to 50 cents and two-zone monthly passes will be increased from $15 to $18 for adults; $10 to $13 for students: and $7.50 to $9 for senior citizens and handicapped. Commuter express will remain at $22. SINGLE RIDES for senior citizens and handicapped handicap-ped will be increased from 20 to 25 cents; and additional addi-tional zone passes will be increased from 20 to 25 cents. There will continue to be no charge for transfers and for children 5 years of age and under. Adult fares for non-peak hours will remain at the current levels of 40 cents for adults and 20 cents for seniors and handicapped persons. ALSO, COLLEGE students must now buy their passes at school and these passes may no longer be shared by another student. |
