Show West Bountiful Centerville, Plan 4th Events Want to celebrate the Fourth of July in south Davis County? If so, two communitiesalong communi-tiesalong with the traditional celebration at Lagoon will be holding activities for all age groups. WEST BOUNTIFUL and Centerville will be having many activities, most of them free to the public. However, there will be a slight admission charge to some festivities, according to city officials. West Bountiful's annual celebration will kickoff tonight (Wednesday) with its "Miss West Bountiful Pageant" and a Prince and Princess contest at 7 p.m. in the Elks Logde. 544 W. 400 N.. Admission is $2. ON THURSDAY, area golfers will compete com-pete in a West Bountiful 9-hole golf tournament tourna-ment at Spring Meadow s Golf Course. Tee-off Tee-off begins at 5:30 p.m. A banquet and dance will be held on Friday night (beginning at 6:30) at the West Bountiful Bowery in City Park, 800 W. 400 N. The dinner will include barbecued spare ribs and all the trimmings. Cost is $3 for adults, $2 for children, or $12 for an entire family. ACTIVITIES on July 4 will begin with a flag-raising ceremony at 7 a.m. in front of city hall. State Supt. of Schools Walter D. Talbot will be the featured speaker. A chuckwagon breakfast will be served from 7:30-9 a.m. at the park bowery. THE CITY'S first annual mini-marathon run will be held over a 3.1 mile course, beginning at 7 a.m. at 500 South and 800 West. The annual parade will begin at 9;30 a.m., featuring more than 50 entries, and will travel along 800 West from 5(X) South to 1600 North. Games and entertainment will be staged all day at the new city park. Skydiving exhibition ex-hibition will be held at noon. CENTERVTLLE'S festivities will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. with a children's parade from 400 S. and .100 W. to Pages Lane. "Family Night Frolics," a variety and talent show featuring both amateur and professional talent, is free to the public Fri- ' day at 7:30 p.m. at Viewmont High School auditorium. SATURDAY' activities will open with a chuckwagon breakfast at the Main Street Park from 6:30-9 a.m. Ihe annual parade will follow at 8:30 a.m. along Main St. from Parrish to Pages lane. A carnival, with activities and booths for all age groups, will open at City Hall Park (400 West north of Parrish Lane I from 1 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to food and game booths, there will be baseball games, races and other events.
