' 1 ; g J fete TOURMMEIHT WINNERS Taking top spots in the recent junior Olympic tournament from the Bountiful area were back, Steve Whitchurch, left, Chris Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, Mike Whitchurch, Jon Alley, Scott Macintosh, Jason Justice, Matt Wools and Trevor Mavin; front, Karen Whitchurch, left, Rage Olsen, David Able, Scott Rose, Bryon Coover, Bret Linton and Dustin Burton. Davis County sponsored a Junior Olympic Tournament June 24 and the winners of the Bountiful city Junior Olympic Tournament competed against other youths from cities in the county. Several boys and girls from the ages of 7-1 3 competed in track and field events that included the 50-yard dash, 220 yard relay run, run, jump and dodge; standing broad jump; shuttle run; cross country run, 20-yard hop and the baseball throw. EACH YOUTH was allowed to enter two events in addition to participating in the relay race and cross-country run. Youth participating in the 50 yard dash were Bryan Anderson, Ander-son, Bred Linton, Robert Young, Jason Justice, Mike and Steve Whitchurch, Ryan Young. Richard Meechan. Girls in the 50-yard dash were: Page Olsen, Julie James, Noel Able and Keli Lamph. IN THE baseball throw event, boys participating were: Cameron Hayes, Dustin Burton, Paul Roberts, Matt Wood, Scott Macintosh, Casey Bowden, Jon Alley,. Ryan Young and Gary Patterson. Patter-son. Girls were: Laura Young, Buffy Bowden, Holly Justice, Bryan Anderson, David Thir- iot, Cameron Hayes, Trevor Mavin, Chris Chamberlain, Mike and Steve Whitchurch, Casey Bowden. Julie James and Laura Young entered the 20-yard hop. Other participants partici-pants included Lindy Linton, Paul Roberts, Karen Whitchurch Whitch-urch and Eric Anderson. |
